Please join us in Midway’s library at 7pm for a presentation by Roc Jiménez de Cisneros. Following the presentation, Roc will perform in the main gallery space.

Roc Jiménez de Cisneros is an artist and composer. In 1996, he co-founded the computer music project EVOL with Stephen Sharp, which has been the main focus of much of his artistic output to date. Greatly inspired by cosmology and quantum theory, he describes his recordings, installations, and performances as “computer music for hooligans”. His work has been released by international record companies such as Entr’acte, Mego, Presto!?, Diagonal, and on his own record label, ALKU, which he established in 1997 and co-directs with Anna Ramos. Bridging the gap between psychedelia and academia, Jiménez de Cisneros has presented his work both live and in installations at galleries, museums, and clubs in Europe, North America, and Asia. In 2015 Jiménez de Cisneros will continue his prolific output of recordings with several releases already in the works for the likes of Yale Union and Anòmia, among others, including Rave Synthesis Approximations of György Ligeti’s Continuum, Part IV. Jiménez de Cisneros lives and works in Barcelona and is a curator for Radio Web MACBA.
